MY akita's a rescued dog, I have no info on her background, she got along fine with my Samoyed (who recently passed away) but she wants to kill my Spitz everytime she sees him. Has anyone any suggestions to what I can do to get her to like him? I have him in a cage and she is on her lead in the her in the same room, she's fine with this – but I dare not let him loose where she is, as it would be tragic.

My Akita pup is almost 5 months old. He's neutered, up to date on all shots, healthy and well cared for. My only real question is his friendliness toward strangers. Right now he runs up to everyone and wants attention, and would probably welcome any intruder into the house. I know that can change as he gets older, so I'm wondering when he will become more protective and less social with strangers? I don't want to make him aggressive or anything, but I got an Akita because I like their loyalty toward family and standoffish nature toward outsiders, so I'm hoping he will get that personality soon! What is your experience with this?

Kido is our young Akita lady born in 16/12/2007. It was difficult not only to find a Japanese Akita like her but also to raise her,as she is our first puppy. You can see by the photos that it's definately worth it!
