So just ask. I'm from Poland but i think i may help you. My akita was (unfortunately she's in dog's heaven now) the first champion in this country. I was a little girl when my mum bought her. Akitas may be hard dog to brought up and teach, but they are just GREAT! If yo're a smart person who choose good method of traing, i think this breed is just fantastic.

Your akita is beautiful. I had an Akita when I was 14 years old (Im now 20 yrs old). We got him as an 8 week old pup. But about 2 years later he got into a fight with my next door neighbors Rotweiler. We had to put him down due to the fact that the other dog didnt have his shots and my dog had a skin disease that would have killed him in the end. 6 years later i now have another akita that is 4 months old. She is beautiful and getting big. I can't wait until she is full grown.

Thanks for sharing! Kodiak my Akita passed 2 years agoa and was 12 years old. I miss him dearly! Akita's are amazing dogs and great personalities.

I have a pup japanese akita coming up to 5 months old now he is a full breed akita but hes pretty bulky just like elvis I got him for 700 GBP which was quiet cheep cuz his mom and dad have won many best in shows all over the world mine is coming up to about 169lbs about 11stone 1 pound and he is very playful I might be puttin up some vids about him soon

Rocker010101 you should really pay attention before insulting people. This video was posted a year ago, and the sign said best of breed, not best in show (at least the first letter after "of" looked like a B).

Bear is a rescue dog anmd they say he is full blood akita but he has shorter fur
He is also a little on the small side but he absolutely loves the snow
Akitas have to be one of the sweetest looking dog breeds that I have ever seen!!!

Be careful when looking for cheap Akitas. You could be facing MAJOR expenses down the line, like a full hip replacement because the breeders were not professional, and don't care what the conformation of the pups turns out to be. Believe me, we are facing a possible 5,000.00 surgery for our male Akita. He is already in stage III hip dysplasia and he is only 1 year old.

yeh thats what happend to mine, the poor thing used to cry and be real depressed..my mum got so sad that she made us give it back to its mother..it was the most gorgeous akita in the world, like a little tedy bear…

well i we found a breeder in sacramento but they should be at least 6 to 8 weeks old.if you get one at 1 week old they will be kinda messed up and have major seperation probloms
