Has anyone here ever adopted an akita from a rescue group?

I'm looking at getting a new addition to the family, and have decided upon a young female akita. I plan to get her from a rescue organization, but was just wondering if anyone else has gone through this expierence.

I've had experience with a Golden, but not an Akita. Very different personalities but the Rescue organization was very helpful, providing personal assistance to make sure the dog was compatible with the owner.

Goldens tend to bond to new families fairly easily. Don't know about Akitas ? But the Rescuer organization should be able to provide expertise…
