How do i train my Akita to bring me a beer?
dozy800 asked:
How do i train my 6 month Akita to open my fridge and get me a beer? I have tryed to put treats on a towel for him to pull the fridge open but he won't do it. Does anyone have any ideas?

How about just getting off your lazy ass and getting your own beer?
dont :/
go Lisa!
I can think of better tricks to teach your pet. Get the beer yourself.
Yeh…….Get up and get it yourself!
you are watching to many beer commercials!
GO OUTSIDE!
go lisa go lisa go lisa
it you birt day
Why is everyone so upset at this one? I think its an awesome idea. Ok it might seem lazy but thoink about it this way, your buddies come over and your all sittin around doing whatever it is your doing and you say "beer" to your dog and next thing you know its coming around the corner with a cold one its mouth, that will be the coolest thing theve ever seen. Congrats on the idea and i applaud you for it. If you ever do figure it out let me know.
Get up and dont have your akita help get your alcholic beverage. and go lisa
Lol… did you get that of the movie Shooter?
I don't think it's being asked because of laziness. It's just a trick and the more you work with your dog the better. I'm unable to help, because I've never done it…and wouldn't. You risk the dog getting into the fridge to help himself. I do applaud people who train their dogs, however.
Dogs wont do that, get a kid.
Ok, just a joke.
It's sort of like training a service dog to open a cabinet door or something. I think the towel is a good start, but putting the treat on the towel just teaches him to get a treat off the towel. You need to reinforce him for opening the door. Somehow, get him to tug on the towel, then give him the treat. Work up to only treating him when he pulls hard enough to get the door to open. Then it would be teaching him to retrieve a specific thing. But if he learns to open the fridge, he might decide to start raiding it. I think my guy would. So if you succeeded, it might have some unintended consequences.
