She had an Akita and loved it, but it is really big. That would be the disadvantage, esp. if you were tight on space. She had a large house, but yet, she was always running into this dog. She got knocked into while carrying her baby down the stairs and fell. She held onto the child and saved her, sustaining much injury to herself. You may not need such a large solid animal at your home. Otherwise, the research of the breed I had done back then, made me think I wanted one.
